선수와 관중이 모두 떠난 텅 빈 경기장에 선수들이 사용했던
장비만 덩그러니 놓여 있는 모습을 통해, 격렬한 경기 이후의
여운과 정적이 감도는 분위기를 상상해 보았다.
나는 승자와 패자가 존재하는 냉정한 경쟁과 대립의 공간이 아닌,
평화와 화합의 분위기를 느낄 수 있는 빈 공간을 그려보고 싶었다.
이를 통해, 텅 빈 공간을 바라보는 사람들이 스포츠와 인간, 세상에 대한
저마다 다른 의미와 이야기를 상상해 볼 수 있기를 바란다.
이것은 단지 스포츠 경기에서만이 아니라 실제 삶 속에서도 마찬가지이다.
우리는 이 세상을 살아가기 위해 끊임없이 서로 경쟁을 해야 한다.
하지만 나는 이 세상 모든 인류가 스스로 정해놓은 제한 안에서 싸우지 말고,
궁극적으로 평화와 화합 속에 다 함께 살아갈 수 있기를 바란다.
특히, 꼭 사라져야 할 경쟁이자 대립인 '전쟁'이 없는 세상을 희망한다.
운동 선수들이 그라운드에 자신의 장비를 그대로 놓아 두고 떠난 것처럼,
언젠가는 이 땅위에 무기를 든 모든 자들이 자신의 무기를 자신이 있던 그 곳에
그대로 놓아 두고 화합을 찾아 떠난 평화의 순간이 찾아올 것이라고 믿는다.

작업에 그려진 모든 요소 (색상, 크기의 비율 등등)는 배경색을 제외하고는
모두 경기 공식 규정에 따라 작업하였다.

이 작업은 지금도 여러가지 시리즈로 제작 중이다.

These illustrations express emptiness after the enthusiastic and
exciting sports match. I want to catch the moment when the athletes
leave the place they fought with the others and the atmosphere
of the empty space feels calm, silent and peaceful.
I hope this work inspires you to imagine various scenarios about sports
with no winners and no losers but with athletes in harmony and peace,
rather than in opposition.
It is not only in a sports match but also in our daily lives.
We have to compete with others to survive.
However, I really hope everyone in this world to live
in peace and harmony rather than fight in restrictions we made.
Especially I hope there is no more war - the opposition to humanity.
Like athletes putted the equipment down and left for somewhere,
hopefully, someday every soldiers just put their weapons down
and go to the harmony.
Then peace must come true.
